Northfield Group — Established 1998

Building trust.
Creating the future.

Building businesses, partnerships and lasting value for generations — across industrial, technology, logistics, infrastructure and investment.

Who We Are

A diversified enterprise, built on discipline and trust.

Northfield Group is a diversified enterprise built on decades of experience, disciplined management and a commitment to creating sustainable long-term value.

What began as a small industrial trading operation in 1998 has grown into a group with interests spanning industrial solutions, technology, logistics, infrastructure and investment. Across every market we enter, our approach has stayed the same: understand the fundamentals, invest for the long term, and build relationships that outlast any single transaction.

We operate through a federation of businesses that share a common culture — one shaped by engineering discipline, financial prudence and a genuine respect for the people and communities we work alongside. Rather than chasing scale for its own sake, Northfield has grown deliberately, entering new markets only where our expertise gives us the right to compete.

Today, that discipline continues to guide every decision we make — from the projects we choose to undertake to the partners we choose to stand beside.

Our Story

Nearly three decades, told in seven chapters.

From a single trading desk to a multi-sector group operating across twelve markets — this is how Northfield was built, one deliberate decision at a time.

1998
1998

The Beginning

Northfield opens its doors as a small industrial trading house, connecting regional manufacturers with buyers who valued reliability over speed. The founding team numbers eleven people working out of a single leased office.

2003
2003

First Expansion

Steady growth in the trading business allows Northfield to acquire its first processing facility, moving the company from intermediary to operator. This shift — from trading goods to producing them — becomes the template for future growth.

2008
2008

Building New Capabilities

Amid global economic turbulence, Northfield takes a contrarian view and invests in logistics infrastructure, betting that reliable movement of goods would become a scarce advantage. The bet pays off, and the Logistics division is formally established.

2014
2014

Entering International Markets

Northfield opens its first offices outside its home market, establishing a presence across Asia and the Middle East. Infrastructure becomes a fourth pillar of the business, anchored by the Group's first large-scale industrial park development.

2019
2019

A New Generation

A new generation of leadership steps in alongside the founding team, bringing fresh perspective while preserving the culture that built the Group. Northfield Ventures, the Group's investment arm, is launched the same year.

2024
2024

Digital Transformation

Northfield begins a group-wide transformation program, embedding data, automation and digital tools across every division — from predictive maintenance in its facilities to intelligent routing across its logistics network.

The Next Chapter

Today, Northfield stands as a diversified group of nearly nine hundred people. The next chapter is focused on sustainability, technology and long-term partnerships that carry the founding philosophy into a new era.

Alexander North — Founder & Chairman

Where It All Started

A founder's conviction, still at the center of the Group.

Before there was a company, there was a conviction: that the businesses which last are the ones built on trust rather than speed. Alexander North spent the years before founding Northfield working inside the industrial supply chains he would later transform — learning, by his own account, "every way a deal can quietly go wrong."

The early years were not easy. Capital was scarce, credibility had to be earned client by client, and more than one supplier mistook a small trading desk for an easy target. What carried the company through, North has said, was a refusal to promise more than could be delivered — a discipline that became the founding principle of Northfield's culture.

As the business grew from trading into operations, then into logistics, infrastructure and investment, that same principle scaled with it. North's long-term view — measured in decades rather than quarters — shaped a company willing to invest ahead of demand and to walk away from opportunities that offered speed at the cost of trust.

Today, as Chairman, North remains closely involved in the Group's long-term strategy, while day-to-day leadership sits with a management team he describes as "custodians of the same conviction, applied to a much bigger canvas."

Signature Project

Building for the next generation.

Northfield Business District is the Group's most ambitious infrastructure undertaking to date — a 65-hectare mixed-use development designed to anchor commercial activity for the surrounding region for the next fifty years. The district combines office towers, light-industrial space, public parkland and transit infrastructure within a single, deliberately phased master plan.

Designed in partnership with regional planning authorities, the project reflects Northfield's belief that infrastructure should be built for the community that will inherit it, not only for the tenants who occupy it first.

Innovation & Technology

Engineering discipline, applied to what comes next.

Across every division, Northfield is investing in the tools that make operations more predictable, more efficient and more resilient. This is not innovation for its own sake — every initiative is judged against a simple question: does it help us serve clients and communities more reliably over the long term?

Our facilities increasingly rely on predictive maintenance systems that flag equipment issues before they cause downtime. Our logistics network uses route optimization to reduce empty-mile travel. And across the Group, a shared data platform gives leadership real-time visibility into operations that once took weeks to consolidate.

Applied artificial intelligence, automation and smart infrastructure now touch nearly every part of how Northfield operates — from the shop floor to the boardroom — while our engineers continue to prioritize systems that are explainable, auditable and built to last.

Our Environmental Commitment

Measured progress, not marketing claims.Demo Data

Northfield's environmental program is built facility by facility, starting with the basics: efficient equipment, better insulation, cleaner energy sourcing, and disciplined waste management. Newer developments, including Northfield Green Campus, are designed from the outset to green building standards, while older facilities are retrofitted on a rolling schedule.

We report progress transparently, including where we fall short of our own targets, because credibility on this topic is earned the same way trust is earned everywhere else in the business — slowly, and through consistency.
